Trenchless Technology
Basically, Trenchless technologies is less invasive technique used repair or replace damaged underground water supply pipes.
This technology is used in an effort to prevent excessive secondary costs, I.e. replacing landscaping, concrete or asphalt driveways, parking lots or roadways.
If one of your water supply pipes is broken or deteriorating, traditional repair methods include excavating soil exposing the pipe with the issue, repairing or replacing the pipe.
Trenchless repair methods include Digging two holes, one at the beginning and one at the end, putting a 3/8” aircraft cable through your existing pipe and attaching it to a backhoe or a 4×4 truck, then pulling a new line through your old line leaving everything above the line undisturbed.
This picture shows a water line that was just installed using a vibratory plow. This equipment leaves a small incision in the lawn, (approximately 3/4” wide) and pulls a new line approximately 18” under the soils surface, leaving a remarkably nice finish product when in ideal circumstances.
